Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad AB, NMV, with headquarters in Kiruna, acquires Fasadelement Verkstads AB in Lule\u00e5. Fasadelement, with about 15 employees, changes its name to NMV Tunnpl\u00e5t and forms a new department within NMV, which currently has about 135 employees in Norrbotten.<\/p>\n
Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad, which was formed in Kiruna in 1947, has in recent years expanded to Jokkmokk, Lule\u00e5 and Pite\u00e5. In 2011, the company acquired Vattenfall Services Nordic in Pite\u00e5, which has since grown from 14 to about 50 employees.<\/p>\n
“We see every opportunity to grow also in Lule\u00e5,” says Niklas P\u00e4\u00e4j\u00e4rvi, co-owner of NMV. “It\u2019s a really fine business we are acquiring, that complements our production of heavy steel structures.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Fasadelement has since 1976 delivered processed sheet steel to customers in the sawmill, construction and automotive industries. Among the company\u2019s products are building elements for kilns in stainless steel, long profiles for the construction industry, and sheet steel for facades and construction, with many customers located outside the immediate area.<\/p>\n
“We will continue our efforts towards stronger products and better service to new and existing customers. While our focus will remain on stainless products we welcome the opportunity to reach new areas of business within the Group,” says Peter Johansson, CEO of Fasadelement and future president of NMV in Lule\u00e5 AB, which will soon house the new department NMV Tunnpl\u00e5t.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Besides NMV in Kiruna, Jokkmokk, Lule\u00e5 and Pite\u00e5, Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad fully owns or part-owns a number of companies within the manufacturing engineering industry in Norrbotten. Kiruna Wagon, Kiruna Utility Vehicles and Galvteknik i Norr are some of the companies within the NMV Group that are likely to become close partners to the new sheet steel department.<\/p>\n
“When we listed potential new owners, in the case of a future sale, Nybergs Mek always ended up at the top of the list. That this is now becoming a reality is fantastic for Fasadelement. I wish them all the luck in the future and feel confident that my vision for the company\u2019s development will be fulfilled,” says Mikael Tingl\u00f6f who sells Fasadelement Verkstads AB to concentrate on the development of Polard\u00f6rren AB in \u00d6jebyn and Polarf\u00f6nster AB in Korpilombolo.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
NMV\u2019s current operations in Lule\u00e5, with a service workshop and five employees, will move into Fasadelement\u2019s premises at Fabriksv\u00e4gen 7. The business is transferred to NMV in Lule\u00e5 AB on December 2, 2013.<\/p>\n
